I read with intrigue Chuck Norris' latest collumn post, suggesting
that it is time to throw the bums out of congress that won't do
anything to fix our problems...

http://wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=69528

....Indeed, he quotes the Associated Press and others that are saying
Congress is content to leave the problems as they are (even though
they could do something about it) in order to have campaign issues in
November.

So, let's just vote them out...ALL of them. I'm thinking that this
year might be a good year to vote against every incumbent, no matter
their political party and clean house...both in Congress and in our
party administrations.

As for President....vote for Mickey Mouse.

Yes, vote all the Republicans out, all they're doing is blocking legislation
to improve the country. The Democrats will get at least 11 more seats in
the Senate and the House probably by a landslide.

Ken, you don't have to worry, they'll be out in drove this time. People are
fed up with their filibuster, around 80 for this Senate, they don't let
anything
get done.

They are free to drill to fix the oil crisis but do not act. IF you
think they should be against the war, they voted in favor of the Iraqi
war (at the start), and they just voted to promote the Iraqi war
commander to a higher post over the region. They voted to raise human

None of which the US DOE says will make a significant impact on the price of

OTOH, conservation, mass transit, and alternative modes of transportation
will eliminate the problem.

No one need authorization to speak.

But Chuck Norris's opinions on anything other than making certain
types of movies are no more meaningful than anyone else's opinions.
You don't post the opinions of the other 200 million plus Americans
equally qualified to pontificate on politics, so why is his worthy of
any special attention.

Since Chuck Norris doesn't post here, but you do, it is YOUR opinions
that I make fun of. Neither of your opinions really matters, of
course, but in your case, we get to see all the bluster and kenfoolery
that you produce when your opinions are ridiculed.

Chuck Norris doesn't give a damn what we say here, so why should
anyone give a damn what he says?

Quote:

anything to fix our problems...

They can't do anything, so long as Bushwhack and his veto pen are in
the White House.

They are free to drill

No they aren't.

Quote:
to fix the oil crisis

Drilling wouldn't fix the oil non-crisis, even if any Congresscritter
had the slightest ability to operate an oil drill. The only way to
cut oil prices in a meaningful way is to significantly cut demand. And
Congress can't do that either.

Quote:
but do not act. IF you think they should be against the war,

It doesn't matter, unless a filibuster-proof majority is in favor of a
cut-off of funds for the war, or a veto-proof majority is in favor of
changing the laws, or they can impeach and remove both Bush and Cheney
almost instantly (when it has never before taken less than several
months to conduct even one impeachment and trial). At this point,
those are the only ways Congress could successfully do something about
the war, and with the Republicans in perpetual lock-step with the
Bushwhack, Congress doesn't have any real options.

Quote:
they voted in favor of the Iraqi war (at the start),

Because Bushwhack and company lied to them too.

Quote:
and they just voted to promote the Iraqi war
commander to a higher post over the region.

He's the most qualified to protect American soldiers from Bushwhack's
stupid policies.

Quote:
They voted to raise human resource costs on corporations nationwide (via min wage increase)

They voted to reduce human misery for the poorest Americans by making
it more possible for them to earn something closer to a living wage
(though around here, even the minimum wage isn't close to a living
wage, unless you shack up several adults in one household).

Quote:
without a corporate tax break to help them adjust to it.

Corporations have already had the tax breaks. If they want to cut
costs, let them cap executive pay at, say $250,000 with no more than
the same amount in potential bonus perks, if they should happen to
perform some feat of miraculous management prowess.

Quote:
Now, they >are even stalling in curbing the very oil speculation that they blame
for the oil crisis.

Congress can do nothing about oil speculation except to tax the hell
out of oil speculators. A 100% windfall profits tax on profits from
any oil price increase above $10 a barrel might do the trick. But
Bushwhack would likely veto that too.

Quote:
Bush has nothing to do with ANY of the stalled actions.

He made them plausible by his last 7 years of stupidity.

Quote:
They just love to condemn others without accepting any blame
for themselves. As I read the Constitution, the economy is up to
Congress...not the President.

The economy is up to neither.

Quote:
...Indeed, he quotes the Associated Press and others that are saying
Congress is content to leave the problems as they are (even though
they could do something about it)

But they can't.

Drilling. Curbing Speculation. Tax reductions. Tax incentives.
That's just a few.

Congress can't do anything unless Bushwhack and/or the loser party is
willing to go along.

Quote:
So, let's just vote them out...ALL of them.  I'm thinking that this
year might be a good year to vote against every incumbent, no matter
their political party and clean house...both in Congress and in our
party administrations.

One thing that doesn't get noted is that while "Congress" may get a
lousy approval rating, if you check the approval rating of THEIR
Congresscritter, it is usually above 50%. Which is why incumbents
aren't often defeated.

Quote:
